Not so hot this week

TOO much food.
maybe we should have called it What we eat and why we don't exercise...
Yesterday was a debacle on EVERY level. I started out good. I grabbed a hard boiled egg and a bananna on my way out the door. And, the scary skin water, which I'll admit was quite refreshing. I ate the egg but the banana was past it's prime. So, I get to the exton mall to set up for a VERY long....NON productive day and forgot food. So, there was a lady behind me selling cupcakes and a lady in front of me with whoppers and starburst to give out to passers by or the starving chick "not selling" clothes at the adjacent booth. I did keep it to one cupcake and only 2 servings of whoppers and of course 6 servings of starburst. I finally left my booth to get food court food. The only good option was Salad Works and I kept it good, no pasta or cheese. just walnuts, cranberries, eggs, onions, tomatoes, shrimp and maybe one other thing with lite balsamic vinegrette. Then out to my car which of course had a FLAT TIRE!!! So, I drowned my sorrows in penut butter covered pretzels (to be fair, I don't think I had a full serving.) Finally home in time for Eagles Kick off and a piece of tomato pie, a piece of white pizza with broccoli, 2 glasses of wine. And, another trip or two to the kitchen to take a bite size piece at a time of tomato pie. Ya know what....as I type this...I realize that although it wasn't the most nutritious day. It wasn't the worst it could have been. In the old days I would have drowned my flat tire woes with a few white castle burgers for the ride home and a pinto of ben and Jerry's during the game. Thank god I've matured to Shiraz from Double Super Fudge Chunk!
Ok..now what was Saturday?? Oh..took the boys to the museums. So 1/2 of one of those HUGE pretzels for breakfast. LOTS of walking. A few bites of their ice cream. Really only 2 small ones. piece of tomato pie (man...that needs to go, it's like I can't walk into the kitchen without taking a bite)Sausage and peppers at the block party we went to. I opted for no bun and just dipped the bite size pieces in to horseradish or mustard depending on the bite. A coors light, A blue moon at the craziest concert I've been to in years. It was my friends teenage band at the trocodero. OH MY GOD!! I'm thankful I'm not a mom right now. I wanted to go to rite aid and buy them out of condoms to distribute. 15 year olds thrusting and cursing on stage with skinny jeans and long hair. And, little girls in the audience screaming and dancing and lookiing up all googly eyed. then off to Bahama Breeze to meet friends for 3 mojitos and split habanero wings and fried shrimp with hot fattening mayonaisy dip on them. Again. I was probably low enough on the calorie count. But lacking in real cardio, enough water and quality ntritional content.

Ok...better late than never...
Sunday: Morning, got up and went to the diner with Michael. 2 bites of his
eggs benedict. 2/3rds of my egg white omelet with spinach, broc and
american cheese. 1/2 a grapefruit and 1/2 of my hashbrowns with onions. 2
cups of coffee. A handful of peanut butter pretzels (not even a serving)
The monster jar is dwindling, so I have to hit up the store for another
soon. Football food at my parents for the game. 1/2 piece of spanish
tortia, 1 1/2 bite size reuben, chips and salsa. Definately stayed under
600 calories I think. That is, until I had 1 1/2 servings of Ben and
Jerry's in bed. But, all in all, a good day. No exercise other than the
loading and unloading of the van (And, I even had help for that)
Monday: serving of fiber cereal for breakfast, wings, cheese fries and too
many beers for lunch. In my defense, It was only 1 order of wings and
cheese fries and I split them evenly with someone else. Fell asleep
directly after getting home. Woke up in time to make it to fashion fest
where I was still too full to eat. But, had 1/2 glass of wine, 3 waters and
a vodka grapefruit. Then at 8, ordered these fried mozz balls with tomato.
Only had 3, so although not the healthiest choices, I was probably under
1200 calories for the day. Oh wait...before I fell asleep, I finished my Ben
and JErry's. (Is that why my new pants don't fit yet???
Tuesday: McDonalds Egg Mc Muffin for breakfast in car on way to market (I
somehow can condone this behavior when I have to be in New Hope by 6am. few
pretsel bites on the way home. Yummy pan fried (very little oil and it only
touched the skin which I only had one bite of) salmon with seared brussel
sprouts (with onion and red pepper) and 1/2 sweet potato with a dab of
honey. Finished Michaels chocolate Ice Cream, (Note to self....can't keep
that shit in the house.
wednesday: Worked out for a little over an hour at the river. LOVE those
stairs, especially where there is a gaggle of construction workers cheering
you on at the base of them. The weather was beautiful, I even got some dips
in for my arms.
breakfast was rebound cereal with 5 strawberries and a swig of blueberry
juice. Lunch??? Oh yeah, grilled calamari and shrimp salad with baby
spinach and goat cheese. Unfortunately, I think there was too much oil.
But, yummy none the less. Later a snack of shrimp gumbo. Seemed
reasonable, not creamy. But, who knows restaurant food is usually loaded
with calories. then dinner at your house and since you know what it was,
I'm gonna skip the typing. It's 6am and I can't sleep, so I should work
out, but I'm going to get through my desk so that my office is spectacularly
clean. I think that will do just as much for my energy level and self
improvement and in some wierd way eventual weight loss, so I'm going to do
that first and hope to make it to the gym later or maybe even do the General
Hospital work out.

Lunch Thursday
You: White Sangria
Split:
Weird Scallops on parship puree that was probably LOADED with butter and topped with fried parsnips and those poor sad grapefruit segment-ettes
We each had 1 1/2 scallops...also I dunno my scallop had like a vein in it or something. Lets never eat scallops there again.
A few tablespoons of the canned tomato/bloody mary mix gazpacho
Half each of that wee baby salad
You .. ( yours was better, I was swayed by yogurt sauce)
Tilapia w/ roasted cherry tomatoes, garlic cream sauce and really delicious rice
Me: Roasted? Salmon w/ some sweet onion stuff (they called it chutney but it wasn’t), Isreali couscous w/ Dried Cranberries, pistachios and maybe lots of honey or something ..too sweet.. Sad yogurt sauce w./ discolored mint
And we each had another round of drinks.
Yesterday and today
Needless to say got off the train STARVED at 5pm, was at Reading Terminal got a chicken skewer...i would say mebbe 3-4 oz white meat chicken with teriyaki stuff on it.
Was going to go to the gym but had to do work when I got home and then it was 7 an X was also starved and lit the grill
Dinner:
Grilled branzino w/ lemon juice olive oil & rosemary .. I probably ate 1 filet maybe 5 oz, I got kind of skeeved halfway through it happens some times with whole fish
Roasted potatoes, cauliflower & onions w/ smoked paprika, olive oil ( 1 tsb whole thing!) I had prob. 1 cup mostly cauliflower
1/2 cup steamed dinosaur kale
1 glass wine
ok now we go into the downturn:
2 more glasses of wine
@ 3/8” of a small individual size bundt cake ... I cut it into 8 pieces I ate 3 of them
2 fresh figs
11:30 HUGE vodka & some kind of juice drink at neighbors house..unexpected block party ‘ cause our black was on TV
2:30 am cold meatloaf from inside fridge. I find it impossible to sleep if there is cold meatloaf available.. Its weird but one of my favorite foods. Ate it right from the baggie sitting on the couch in the dark
2 of those chocolate chipolte almonds.
Today
Coffee
10:30 half a individual spinach quiche
11:15 the other half
For far not too good but it is that time of the month as of @ 5:30 last night, my body tries to sabotage every attempt at weight loss by menstruating within 4 days of the onset of any diet and exercise plan so I feel cranky and fat and crampy and tired and bloated.

Tuesday -Ali -Sept16
Last night had about half of a small Asian pear, it wasn’t so great. Then was feeling snacky and ate two chipolte chocolate covered almonds (which are incredibly good, salty, chocolaty spicy and crunchy..thankfully I only bought a small bag) , and a frozen After Eight I found in the back of the freezer (I was looking for ginger, though not for candy).
So got into bed with Sue Grafton book (mind candy).. Fell asleep without flossing or moisturizing...got up to pee @ 3am and took a bite of the rather revolting German chocolate cake X’s mom made us take home & have a full swallow of X’s full fat milk. The cake was in the fridge ever since Saturday night and I had no desire for it..because I don’t like German Chocolate cake, it going in the garbage tonight!
Food: 10:00am
1 small organic local apple, 1 capful organic maple syrup, 2 tbsp greek yogurt, 1/4 cup of Uncle Sam cereal...
For those unfamiliar with Uncle Sam cereal it has 10 grams of fiber. It most closely resembles animal feed, except I think that animal feed may be tastier since is usually covered in molasses. This is very close to what I imagine feed for diabetic horses must taste like. So in order to vary my breakfast from a horses here’s what I did.
I chopped up the apple in to 1” cubes, tossed in a bowl w. the cereal added a capful of maple syrup and nuked it for 2 min on high. Then I added @ 2 tbsp of non fat Greek yogurt. It was pretty good I must say, kind of like apple crisp.
Its kind of cloudy & chilly out and I am making chicken stock which will turn into Italian wedding soup (w. Turkey meatballs & my friend Swiss chard in lieu of spinach)
Off to yell at people for not returning calls, and make lunch for X , going to bike over and have lunch with him today.
